It was my pleasure to hold two makeup masterclasses in the name of raising funds for River’s Gift – Australia’s leading non-government organisation funding Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) research.
I have been participating in River’s Gift running programs since about July last year. Each runner has an individual fundraising target which contributes to a team target. The running programs are a major source of fundraising for the charity.
In order to reach my target and raise funds for River’s Gift, I designed a makeup masterclass where the majority of the ticket cost would be donated to the charity.
In order to create the best fundraising event possible, I reached out to brands I personally trust and love to have products donated for goodie bags for each attendee to take away.
I was thrilled to have the following sponsors on board: Weleda, MooGoo, Issada, La Mav, 6ft6 and Photography by Riccardo.
Each attendee took away a deluxe sample of my favourite Weleda Skin Food, an Issada lip gloss, La Mav organic BB cream and mineral powder sample and a MooGoo bubbly milk wash sample. 6ft6 donated two bottles of wine as a door prize for each event and also offered discount on champagne for the events. La Mav donated full-size product and makeup brushes which were used as door prizes at each event. Photography by Riccardo donated two $100 vouchers for glamour portraits as door prizes at each event – I have donated a makeup session to be paired with each photo shoot.
Attendees also took away a booklet with how-to guides and recommendations which I created to complement the masterclasses.
As a direct result of the two masterclasses, I was able to donate $1000 to River’s Gift.
I’d like to thank the 20 attendees over the two dates for a total of four hours of makeup masterclass fun! Not only did we have a great time, collectively we raised a significant amount for this worthy cause. A big thank you is also extended to the sponsors who helped make this event extra special for the attendees.
